General Health
As most of us know, the best way to slow the aging process is to eat right, don't drink and smoke, and exercise regularly. However, some research suggests that there are herbs and spices that may slow the aging process, improve health and boost energy in some users. Below are four of them; give them a try and see if they provide you with a spark!
Cinnamon for Joint and Muscle Stiffness
Many of us experience joint and muscle pain as we age due to arthritis. Cinnamon has anti-inflammatory compounds that can relieve pain from stiffness. Also, cinnamon contains antibiotic properties that can reduce incidence of urinary tract infections, gum disease and tooth decay.

Thyme for Healing
Bacterial infections can cause us problems as we age and our immune systems weaken. These infections can range from a minor sore throat to pneumonia. Studies indicate that thyme can kill MSRA bacteria, which is the cause of staph infections.
Sage to Fight Inflammation
Inflammation at the cellular level is why the body ages faster than it otherwise should. Some experts add sage to their meals to fight various types of inflammation. This herb is believed to fight flare ups of rheumatoid arthritis and atherosclerosis.
Tumeric to Reduce Chances of Cancer and Alzheimer's
Tumeric is used widely in India, and common US cancers are much rarer there. Some researchers believe this is due in part to curcumin, which is what gives turmeric its yellow hue. Curcumin is thought to be effective in protecting us against cancer. Indians have very low rates of Alzheimer's as well, so there is speculation that this spice plays a factor.
Remember of course that our primary weapon against aging is to have a healthy lifestyle - eat properly, exercise, and get a good night's sleep.
