The UE Ranger is a unique upper extremity exercise aid designed to improve range of motion, strength, and functional coordination. Therapists will find this device easy to use and helpful for the rehabilitation of orthopedic or neurologically impaired shoulders or upper extremities.
The UE Ranger assistive-motion device facilitates multi-plane biomechanics and graded progressions of motor activity to help improve upper extremity function, ROM and endurance. The device includes a molded plastic hand support with securing strap, telescopic tubing, articulating joints, and a detachable base. The hand support is grooved to comfortably accept various sizes of the left or right hand and does not require the user to grip. The telescoping tube and locking collar adjust for users of all heights. Therapists will also find the assistive motion device ideal for rehab exercises and myofascial release techniques and can be used while seated, standing or lying supine. As the user progresses through the rehabilitation process, the UE Ranger provides support to maintain safety while developing biomechanical and neuro-muscular capability. Research shows this device demonstrates the capacity to safely provide a balance between the necessary support needed for PROM (passive ROM) and the challenging requirements for a AAROM (active assisted ROM) of the upper extremity. The UE Ranger and its instructional manual were developed specifically to assist in the healing process for persons suffering from a variety of shoulder pathologies, however, its applications are transferable to the entire upper extremity.
